Hindi Poem – ‘Baarish ki Boondein’

From our poetess, Seema Verma presenting you yet another master piece. Hindi Poem – ‘Baarish ki Boondein’.

The sweet smell of Mother Earth and the wafting aroma of pakoras coming from the kitchen. That occasional thunderstorm which makes you run into your mother’s arms. Defines rain for me. ‘Baarish ki Boondein’ the name itself drenches my soul.

Is there anyone you know who doesn’t love rain? We bet not! Be it the pitter-patter, or those tiny drops falling from fluffy clouds above, are enough to bring cheer on anyone’s face. I still remember, as children how we used to block all the drains on the roof and makeshift swimming pool was ready. We looked forward to a rainy day so that we could soak ourselves silly in the rain. Or better still, if it rained during school hours, we would try to sneak our time longer at the playground so that we could play football in puddles. That’s not all, going to the market with my mother was the best, I would jump in all the puddles and she would glare at me for all the mess I was making on my clothes. Ahh, those childhood memories!

GO ahead, open up your windows and see the beautiful world soaked in rain.
