From the diary of a Mom who is raising Book Worms! and it began from early childhood. As much as I loathe spending hours in aisles of a bookshop, waiting for my son to choose his books, I secretly admire his taste and careful selection.
Let me tell you, raising thinkers of tomorrow needs buckets of patience.
In this video, our budding Orator Bani recites Hindi poem ‘Pustakein’. She delves deep into the world of Hindi poems and the magical world of books!
What is a good time to read a book, you ask?
ANYTIME! Is a good time.
At what age should you start reading to your child?
Right from pre-birth.
Studies have proven, any age is a good age to start reading to your children. Try to share at least one book or story each day. Reading a book or singing songs or poems with your child is good for her brain development, listening skills and sense of sounds. It will help them in school in later years and enhanced communication and social skills.
There is a whole new world behind the covers of a book. You go to any book shop and you .ould see how children are lost in their storybooks. Selecting their favourite one from the towering shelves is ever so challenging yet exciting. Have you seen, how reading about those characters and making discoveries engulf their beautiful minds?
It is often said that one should never underestimate the power of a curious mind. And rightfully so!
Our contributor Seema shares a wonderful poem on the significance of books, that is beautifully recited by little Ms Bani.
While growing up, I had a habit of bedtime reading, while I try to follow even now. My choice of books ranged from Fantasy to Science Fiction. Which book is your favourite? Let us know in the comments below.
Show some love to this brave girl for reciting the poem for us. Do share if you would like to see such videos in the future.
