If we don’t notice patterns of life, people, the daily routine then the world can seem like chaos. Nature has blessed all with their unique patterns. Some talk and behave a certain way. Some look and walk a certain way. Our animal kingdom is abundant with patterns. While one looking nothing like the other. A little more practice on the same through our next set of Maths Olympiad worksheets.
All children are different in their mathematical thinking, strengths and interests
Jo Boaler
“Students from early ages realize that math is quite different than other subjects and that it depends heavily on taking tests and answering uninteresting questions.”
This combination of frequent testing, procedural teaching and uninteresting questions disconnected from students’ lives causes many students to regard math as a “cold, lifeless subject” without a human connection, says Jo Boaler. She is a professor of mathematics education at Stanford Graduate School of Education.
As teachers, it’s our goal to make the subject enjoyable for children. If we fail in doing the same, children pick up fears of the subject. Poor treatment is given to Maths as a subject is a reason every other child ( and the parent) is scared of the subject. Funny how we are surviving because Mathematics is everywhere we go, do and say.
After the teacher has done her job of teaching the concept. It is up to the child to improve upon it.
